SRC Winter Series Round 5 – March 5 & 6 2011

The final round of the 2011 SRC Winter Series had a great turnout and everyone stuck around till the very end! The points race came down to the final race for many classes. Saturday was a bit of a scorcher but the downhill race day had perfect racing conditions with bright sun and a cool gust of wind throughout the day. Congratulations to all the round 5 winners and especially to the overall 2011 Winter Series winners. Fontana is always full of surprises with the weather. All week long the forecast was rain rain rain! On Saturday it was mixed between sunshine and rain. Sunday couldn’t have been more perfect. The course was very fast and people were loving launching out of the turns. I picked a spot to shoot where I could get up to 3 different shots for each rider. Gravity Pirates Don't Need A Shuttle

SRC Winter Series Round 3 – February 5 & 6 2011

Super Bowl weekend wasn’t an excuse for dedicated riders that made their way for round 3 of the 2011 SRC Winter Series. Saturday was a perfect day with lots of sun and warm weather but Sunday turned out to be the opposite with cold winds on the course reaching over 20mph. That didn’t stop KHS rider Logan Bingelli from taking 1st place in the Pro Mens and Quinton Spaulding in Vet Pro.

Team Badiday & The Pinoy Crew (+1 Spaniard & Son) Representing Big!

Another great turn out for the 2nd race of the 2011 Winter Series. Saturday was nice and warm with perfect riding conditions. By Saturday night the wind was howling with gusts up to 30 mph. Sunday morning was the same with huge dust clouds and many riders deciding not to race at the last minute. But for the brave souls that didn’t let the wind decide for them they were rewarded with another great technical course.

The 2011 SoCal racing season started this weekend with the 17th Annual Southridge Winter Series. An amazing turnout on Sunday with over 200 riders signing up for the downhill race event. Madi "Mad-dog" Macias & Jacob Macias

I had the opportunity to shoot at Kearny Moto Park BMX  this weekend for the final points race of the season. The amazing parents of Madi “Mad-Dog” & Jacob wanted professional photos of their kids racing and called upon six3events to get the job done. I always love shooting any type of bike racing and events but with all the children and the added “encouraging” energy from the parents made it an exciting day for me. After the race I took some photos of the kids with their trophies at the top of the gate.

Sending it over the 60ft Canyon Gap aka Death Gap

I had the opportunity to witness in person my favorite gravity event of all time, The 2010 Redbull Rampage! This was my first introduction into the world of Free Riding and Downhill Mountain Biking. The 1st minute of the 2008 Redbull Rampage DVD where you hear the guy on the radio calling out 5…. 4….. 3…. 2…. 1…. makes the hair on my body stand up but to experience in person cannot even compare. I got to Virgin Utah on Friday to catch the qualifiers and see all the new talent and was there to support the youngest rider of the bunch, 16 year old Big Mountain Hucker Wil White. Logan Binggeli from KHS Racing took 1st place in the qualifier that cemented his position in the Sunday Main Event. I’d like to thank Wil White and KHS for making it possible for me to cover this event. If I had to choose only 1 event to shoot, no doubt the Redbull Rampage would be it.

The Marzocchi Predator Night Race was an awesome event. Stephanie Wolf and I set out to get the best shots possible. Harsh conditions was a challenge but we managed to pull it off. Plenty of cool sections to shoot but we stuck with the one we liked best and hope you like it too!

Digital masters for this event is $10 and the print prices starting at $8. If you do any prints try out the metallic finish because I’ve heard nothing but great feedback about it.
